The Southland Noticeboard is run by The Invercargill Herald as a free service for the people of Invercargill and Southland. Posts are written by members of the public and are not checked before they appear, so please read them with the same care you would a notice in a shop window.
- Be civil. No abuse, harassment, threats or discrimination.
- Be honest. No scams, fake listings, pyramid schemes or misleading job offers. Never ask for payment before someone has seen a room or an item.
- Keep it local. The noticeboard is for Invercargill and Southland.
- Respect privacy. Don’t post other people’s phone numbers, addresses or photos without permission.
- No spam. One post per listing. Businesses are welcome to advertise jobs and events; repeated promotional posting will be removed. For advertising on the site, email advertising@iherald.nz.
- Lawful only. Nothing illegal, including rentals that breach the Residential Tenancies Act, unlicensed goods or copyright material.
Use the Report button on any post or reply and the newsroom will look at it. We remove posts and suspend accounts that break these rules, at our discretion. Questions or complaints: complaints@iherald.nz.
